As one of the commanding producers and DJs in the Hungarian scene, Chris.SU among others has put his country on the map of drum and bass. His first international break through was the track "Astro-Sine" with the well-known techno-sample "My house is your house", in 2002 on Trace's label DSCI4. Since then, his tracks enjoy the support of drum and bass' finest, from Klute to Ed Rush, Concord Dawn, Pendulum, Ill.Skillz, BSE, Bailey, Flight, D-Bridge, Matrix, Teebee, Dieselboy and Andy C. Raised in a small city one hour drive from the capital of Hungary, Budapest and trained from the age of 7 as a classical cellist, Chris soon found himself edging away from the traditional music and getting into electronic music. As soon as he got his first PC in 1996, he immediately started making music in various genres such as hardcore techno and house.

By the end of 1997 one of Chris' schoolmates, who is today an editor of the Hungarian drum'n'bass website ImpulseCreator [http://www.drumandbass.hu] gave him a compilation CD to listen to it, which was one his first dnb experiences. After a few months listening to the "new" style, he started visiting parties, too. Chris remembers the Bad Company gig in 1999 as one of his first big inspirations to start making dnb himself. By that time ImpulseCreator has launched a new page called 'Music for your ears', where inexperienced producers could upload their new tunes. He made it so, too, and he seemed to gain over people, including the boss and other members of Subscope Recordings. They offered him a contract, and soon in 2000 he got his first 12" with the tracks "Time Warp" and "Angel".

Rousing on his success as a producer, later, he decided to buy his own decks and started playing out and has already been playing in the UK, USA, Australia and in lots of European countries, including Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia and Serbia.

Besides his own work Chris has made various successful collaborations. With his fellow Hungarian mate SKC they made their most famous tune "Desert Siege", released on Commercial Suicide in 2004. Hospital Records decided to release an EP called Future Sounds Of Budapest, including a tune by Chris & Gabor. Also keep your eye on his collaboration project TACTILE, consisting of five people, Chris.SU, SKC, Longman, Bratwa and Safair. They've recently finished their debut album "SUPER SYSTEM LP" (4x12" LP, CD) forthcoming March, 2006 on Timeless Recordings.
