1) Phenotype is a Mexican EBM/Synthpop band.

2) Phenotype formed in July 2009 as a five piece metal band and started off covering songs from bands such as Killswitch Engage and Machine Head, while also working on original material. After a couple of months of tightening up as a group and getting comfortable with playing together they began to play gigs. They were well received and decided to become serious about their music and took a break from gigs to focus on writing material and working on finding a definite sound around the beginning of 2009.In august 2010 Phenotype worked on preparing an album and wrote some newer material that better represented the band and each members skill as an individual. Practices became frequent and recording of their tracks commenced in August 2010
